4. Morrissey
In just five years, The Smiths became one of the biggest indie bands that have emerged from the U.K. After the band separated in 1987, lead singer Morrissey went on to gain huge success from a solo career (his debut album ‘Viva Hate’ went straight to number one on release.) The reason we have included Morrissey on our top 30 list is because, to put it bluntly, we love everything about Moz; his trademark quiff, his controversial statements, his vegetarianism, his saucy stage antics, his sharp lyrics, his arrogance and his hatred for the royal family, to name but a few things.
3. Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke has penned some of the best songs that have ever come from a British band. And this is because each Radiohead album brings something new and fresh to the table. However, it is not just this that has earned Thom a place on our top 30 list. Thom Yorke is also a keen activist with Green Peace, a vegan and involved with helping to tackle climate change. If you thought that wasn’t enough his solo music and performances with super-group Atoms For Peace are all also contributing factors to why Thom Yorke is one our top 30 awesome people.
1. Matt Bellamy
The classical piano pieces, spidery riffs, suspicious guitar humping, over-the-top theatrical stage performances and angelic vocals have all earned Mr. Bellamy a place in our 30 awesome people list.
